PJ Morton & JoJo Reunite on "My Peace"

New Single Follows 2019's GRAMMY-Winning Hit "Say So," Features Interpolation of Outkast & Contributions From Mr. Talkbox: LISTEN

Today - exactly three years and four days since PJ Morton and JoJo released their GRAMMY-winning, runaway hit single, "Say So" - the two chart-topping songwriters and powerhouse vocalists return with the follow-up fans have waited for. Out now on Morton Records, "My Peace" is another stirring profession of love, this time replacing romance with self-care. Trading verses between the song's impenetrable hooks, Morton and JoJo celebrate the significance of self-worth as they put their own feelings first. In addition to a horn arrangement interpolated from Outkast's "SpottieOttieDopaliscious," PJ Morton taps Mr. Talkbox for layers of tasteful riffs and wailing harmonies across the track.

"I wanted to write a song that was a duet and gave two perspectives, but wasn't necessarily about a relationship," says PJ Morton. "I think after going through so much these last couple of years, many people really got down to what's truly important. And most realized that nothing is worth their peace."

Following the success and support of "Say So" - including a win for Best R&B Song at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards, plus Soul Train, NAACP Image Award nominations and more - PJ Morton and JoJo have grown even closer as friends and collaborators, popping up on each other's projects and live shows. Both will begin their own headlining tours in the coming weeks, and tickets to all stops on the March leg of Morton's just-announced My Peace Tour are available at pjmortonmusic.com/#shows.

"My Peace" marks PJ Morton's first new single since 2021's "Please Don't Walk Away," which he and his eight-piece band performed during an incredible appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week. Watch the rendition here: https://youtu.be/QExzVm4DA54

Currently up for Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 2022 GRAMMY Awards ("Bring It On Home To Me" with BJ The Chicago Kid, Kenyon Dixon & Charlie Bereal), as well as Album of the Year for his contributions to Jon Batiste's We Are, PJ Morton is preparing for another hot streak of music ahead. He recently reunited with India.Arie for a duet that will appear on Robert Glasper's forthcoming Black Radio III, and starred alongside Dawn Richard in his music video for "Please Don't Walk Away." He will make his hometown return to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 29th, and will have more to share soon.
