Country’s Rising Voice Pynk Beard Blends Tradition And Edge In New Single “2 Rich 4 My Blood,” Out Now
|
Emerging Country artist and award-winning songwriter PYNK BEARD shares his latest single from his forthcoming EP, “2 Rich 4 My Blood.” With its hypnotic blend of Southern swagger and sharp storytelling, the track is a playful ode to country nights, irresistible charm, and living a little larger than life. While rooted in country tradition, it highlights PYNK BEARD’s skill as a songwriter and his knack for pairing clever wordplay with a sound that’s entirely his own.

“2 Rich 4 My Blood is the story of good times and bad decisions,” said PYNK BEARD. “It reminds me of the nights I can’t quite remember. I wrote this as a memorial, of sorts. I’ve definitely had nights that I should’ve gone home but found myself sitting front row and falling in love. Shoutout to the ladies that hear our problems and don’t judge, and help us escape reality, one dance at a time.”
“2 Rich 4 My Blood” is the latest preview of his forthcoming EP, Red Dirt Diaries, out October 17. The EP was announced earlier this Summer alongside the track, “Mine, Lord Willing,” with “Sip” marking PYNK BEARD’s signing to the Red Bull Records family.
After years of writing award-winning hits for stars like Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara, John Legend and Jennifer Lopez, PYNK BEARD (also known by Grammy-winning songwriter Sebastian Kole) caught a childlike burst of creativity in 2024. Having given up on the idea he could ever be an artist in his own right, he dyed his beard pink, assumed a new name, and grasped at the opportunity to embrace a genre of music he’d previously felt like he had to suppress: country.
This is a powerful new chapter in his story. Raised in Birmingham, Alabama as a preacher’s son, he grew up directing the church choir and moonlighting in country bands, weaving country soul, R&B, and gospel influences into his own music. Red Dirt Diaries is a thrilling ode to and document of the diversity of the modern South. The five-song collection is a statement on “what it means to come from the dirt, to come from this soil and the complexities of Alabama,” says PYNK BEARD. “People think Alabama is a bit backwoods, and it is, but it’s actually a bit more progressive and modern than people think. I’m from Alabama, and I’m very proud of that, but let me show you what it really feels like if you were here.”
