Anchored by headliners Kentucky native Tyler Childers and Zach Bryan, Railbird Music Festival returned to Lexington, KY this past weekend. The Infield at Red Mile hosted the two-day experience that featured more than 30 artists performing across three stages. The event offered an unparalleled bourbon and equine experience and featured some key musical moments:
*Sunday, June 4, 2023 named “Tyler Childers Day” by the city of Lexington, KY, and the headliner performed for two straight hours to close the festival for its first year at The Red Mile
*Zach Bryan headlined Saturday night (6.3). He repped a University of Kentucky t-shirt and performed one of his earliest songs, “Snow,” off his debut album ‘DeAnn.’ On Sunday (6.4), he joined both Charles Wesley Godwin and The Head and The Heart for performances
*A large portion of the lineup was homegrown and Kentucky-bred, including headliner Tyler Childers, Cole Chaney, Ricky Skaggs and Cole Chaney
*Weezer kicked off the first date of its summer tour at Railbird
*Charles Wesley Godwin invited Cole Chaney and Nicholas Jamerson each on stage for a performance
*Morgan Wade performed a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Bad Karma”
*Lucius joined Sheryl Crow, Jenny Lewis, Goose and Marcus Mumford for a performance during each artist’s solo set
Additional top-notch performances included Charley Crockett, Valerie June, Neal Francis, The Heavy Heavy, Nickel Creek, Amos Lee, Sierra Ferrell, Molly Tuttle, 49 Winchester, flipturn, Calder Allen, Whiskey Myers and more.
