Red Baraat Red Baraat, the kinetic 8-piece dhol and brass ensemble from Brooklyn, have confirmed the initial dates of their 2015 U.S. tour for their new album, 'Gaadi of Truth,' out 1/20 on Sinj Records. Red Baraat will also present their fourth annual 'Festival of Colors' for the Hindu holiday Holi, which expands to four cities in 2015 including shows at Washington DC's Howard Theatre, and the festival's Boston debut at The Sinclair. The collaborative show celebrating South Asian arts and culture will feature a Red Baraat set and performances from very special guests. See schedule below.

This week, NPR Music premiered "Bhangra Pirates," a new song from the album, with Bob Boilen noting, "It's impossible to stand still while listening to the brass-powered music of Brooklyn's Red Baraat. The sprawling, groove-heavy group celebrates the world's diverse sounds and cultures on its latest album," adding that it's full of "uplifting, universal music." Dubbed the "best party band in years" (NPR) for their singular sound - a merging of bhangra rhythms, jazz, go-go, brass funk, and hip-hop- Red Baraat's explosive new album 'Gaadi of Truth' broadens their show with new elements of South Asian Qawwali traditions, Cumbia grooves, and electronic music. The group has played sold-out shows across the country, including performances at Central Park Summer Stage, Austin City Limits, Monterey Jazz Festival, and more.
