Rock Eupora Uses "Gritty Rock And Shimmering Pop" (The Fader) To Embrace The Anxieties Of Opening Up With New Song "Intimacy"

Nashville-via-Mississippi indie pop breakouts Rock Eupora have returned with "Intimacy," a blissful, triumphant ode to feeling fully seen by the ones we love. "Intimacy" finds Rock Eupora songwriter Clayton Waller reflecting on a transitionalperiod in his life in the already-chaotic early days of 2020; coming to terms with the loneliness and pain he felt trying to get through that all on his own. But growing from the adversity, "Intimacy" is a celebration of the lessons Waller learned through those lows - now putting a fresh emphasis on opening up to those closest to him or, as he puts it, "surrendering to that messy intimacy we all need." The song arrives with a new music video, in which Rock Eupora soundtracks a perfect summer day filled with friends, tie-dye and of course a few puppies for good measure.

"Intimacy" is the latest offering from Rock Eupora's upcoming full-length Pick At The Scab, which arrives August 19 via the artist-run Southern independent label Single Lock Records (who just took home their first GRAMMY on three total 2022 nominations). Named after a small town of 2,000 in Waller's native Mississippi, the band now resides in Nashville and have become critical favorites in their adoptive hometown. The Nashville Scene have declared they're "making the case to claim the South's much-storied indie-pop legacy," while the East Nashvillian recently lauded them for their "catchy pop tunes and hooky guitar riffs that embrace vulnerability through emotional connections." Soon they'll be showing the rest of the country what Nashville was quick to find out, with a full US tour coming later this year.
