NEW ALBUM PICK AT THE SCAB COMES AUGUST 19 ON SINGLE LOCK RECORDS

Rock Eupora - the Nashville-via-Mississippi collective "making the case to claim the South's much-storied indie-pop legacy" (Nashville Scene) - have returned today with "Ode To My Friends," a love letter to the power of community to lift us through adversity: "like a phone on two percent being plugged in," as songwriter Clayton Waller puts it.

The closing track on Rock Eupora's upcoming album Pick At The Scab (out August 19 on Single Lock Records)"Ode To My Friends" serves as a triumphant and euphoric finale to an eleven-song collection that isn't afraid to have vulnerable conversations head-on. This includes Waller's own experiences coming to terms with his sexuality while growing up in the Deep South, and the beauty he found in opening up to those closest to him. There's a palpable exuberance when he sings "I talk too much when I’m around them / I can’t stop grinning" about hanging out with his community; a snapshot of pure joy from Waller to cap this career-best new record from Rock Eupora.

In advance of releasing Pick At The Scab next month, Waller also partnered with the Recording Academy on a stripped-down back-porch performance of Rock Eupora's new single "Intimacy," for the GRAMMYs' Press Play series during Pride Month. Prior to "Intimacy," Rock Eupora shared "Can You Feel The Weight?" from the new record which was named the Song Of The Week by both the East Nashvillian and Queerty, who described it as "the coming out song we didn't know we needed." Pick At The Scab comes next month via the Muscle Shoals and New Orleans-based Single Lock Records, who just won a GRAMMY Award and two A2IM Libera Awards this year for their eclectic output of Southern independent music.
