Today, New York disco-pop trio Say She She releases their debut LP, Prism, which recently topped at #1 on KCRW’s Top 30 Albums list and has been praised by MOJO, The Guardian and more. Named as a silent nod to Nile Rodgers (C’est chi-chi!: It's Chic!”), Say She She has quickly broken out as a band to watch in 2022, their show-stopping three-part harmonies and throw-down-on-the-dance-floor attitude earning significant attention from the BBC, Wax Poetics, Paste, Gilles Peterson’s WorldWide FM, a co-sign from Clairo and a key placement in the trailer for Lena Dunham's new movie Sharp Stick. Additional coverage includes NPR Music's New Music Friday, Brooklyn Magazine, Atwood Magazine, Earmilk, and forthcoming pieces with Ones To Watch, The Talkhouse, and WNYC. They will also tour with a full 7-piece band in November including Brooklyn Made Nov 3 and Lodge Room in Los Angeles Nov 11. See below for full itinerary.

And watch this live performance and interview from the trio’s just-released KCRW Apogee Session here.
Prism finds Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown at the epicenter of a roaring roster of musicians — including members of The Dap-Kings, The Extraordinaires, the house band at Ronnie Scott’s, The Shacks, Twin Shadow, Chicano Batman and underground cult-funk LA band Orgone.
Between a heavy dose of dance beats, disco grooves, and a worldly range of inspirations — the Turkish funk and Hindi riffs beloved by Piya Malik (staple El Michels Affair feature and former backing singer for Chicano Batman), the classical and jazz vocal training and heavy R&B influences of Nya Gazelle Brown’s childhood, and the groups favored by Sabrina Mileo Cunningham like Rotary Connection and Tom Tom Club, plus their mutual love of David Mancuso’s loft parties, the dance-punk group Liquid Liquid and more — Prism captures the trio’s “wonky post-disco spirit of early '80s NYC” (The Guardian).
“‘Prism’ is a dreamy record of 'discodelic soul' that’s part Chic, part sultry Santigold and easily at home on a New York dance floor circa 1979,” praises Brooklyn Magazine in a recent feature on the trio. Read the full piece here: https://www.bkmag.com/2022/10/05/say-she-she/
Say She She has also been on a roll on the road: the trio just played a number of festivals in the UK, sold out their debut headline gig in London, and were a must-watch at the Rough Trade Indieplaza Festival at Rockefeller Center in NYC. See below for details for their full fall itinerary and newly announced Out Of Our Minds tour dates, where they’ll be on the road with their 8-piece live band.
Say She She has been releasing stand-alone non-album singles since February, with “Forget Me Not,” a gritty funk send-up inspired by NYC’s Guerilla Girls that made a huge first splash. “Trouble” recently hit #7 on KCRW’s Top 30, and “Norma,” was just released, their protest anthem written in response to the decision to overturn Roe v Wade. In the coming weeks, they’ll also release a music video for the single “Fortune Teller.”
