Scarypoolparty Displays Tremendous Musical Ambition On 21-Track Double Album The Act Of Forgiveness, Out August 27th

Set To Join X Ambassadors On 26-Date ‘The Beautiful Liar’ Tour, Kicking Off Oct. 15 At San Diego’s House Of Blues

Today, Scarypoolparty announces his ambitious sophomore album, The Act of Forgiveness, to be released August 27th via Hollywood Records/19 Recordings. The 21-track double album -- featuring twelve songs with Emmy Award and Tony Award-winning composer Rob Mathes’ orchestral arrangements -- further proves Scarypoolparty is a true “renaissance artist” (Alternative Press).

Produced largely by Scarypoolparty and recorded in nine days at LA’s legendary Village Studios and Capitol Studios, the album was conceived amidst widespread uncertainty that forced Scarypoolparty -- aka 26-year-old “musical savant” (Ones to Watch) Alejandro Aranda -- to strip everything back and figure out who he is.

A culmination of all his styles and influences over the past few years, this record is a bold statement to his artistic versatility. From the softer, more revealing moments, to flowing pop melodies, to heavier rock sounds, Scarypoolparty pulls the curtain on his dynamic and undeniable musical ability. Woven throughout with the sweeping strings and his unbelievable guitar fingerpicking, this double album reiterates the emotional depth of his songwriting as he explores themes of nostalgia, romance, and uncertainty.

Last week, Scarypoolparty previewed the upcoming album with “Friends,” which Alternative Press says highlighted his “gentle, yet powerful vocal ability and borderline unbelievable instrumental talent while exploring themes of nostalgia and giving an honest look into the reality of romantic connection.” Listen to it here.

This fall, Scarypoolparty joins X Ambassadors as direct support on their The Beautiful Liar tour, kicking off Oct. 15th at San Diego’s House of Blues. Tickets for The Beautiful Liar tour will go on sale this Friday, June 18th at 10am local time. Scarypoolparty is currently on his ‘The Acoustic Tour,’ which kicked off earlier this month in Tempe, AZ. This entirely solo, stripped tour continues through June 20th, before he heads to the festival circuit for performances at Summer Camp, Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands. A complete list of dates for Scarypoolparty is below and available here.

“Reminiscent of the genre-blending of Post Malone” (Alternative Press) and “lane adjacent to that of Muse, Deftones and Radiohead” (HITS), Scarypoolparty’s steady stream of inventive hits has helped him amass over 15 million combined streams to date and a social following of more than 700K. The 2020 lockdown was a time of trailblazing creativity for Scarypoolparty, during which he gained artistic momentum and expanded his audience. The year included the critically-acclaimed EP DOOM HOLOGRAM, which was featured on NPR New Music Friday, Billboard, The Wild Honey Pie and Forbes, who called it “an incredibly visual and cinematic work.” More recently, he released his LOS ANGELES EP, his most candid project to-date, which MTV calls “a cold, metallic Queen of the Damned soundtrack filtered through the warm lights of his home, Los Angeles.” The EP has received critical praise from across the industry including Paste and Alternative Press who also named him one of 100 artists to watch in 2021.
