Seeker Celebrates 30 Years of SWV’s Music with It’s Still About Time EP

EP of SWV songs re-imagined by today’s emerging R&B talent out 10/28, 30 years after debut album ‘It’s About Time’

Tayla Parx re-imagining of “I’m So Into You” out today on Seeker Music: Listen HERE

Seeker Music, the music company founded by hit songwriter Evan Bogart, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of SWV’s debut album, It’s About Time, this October with a celebration EP and special SWV-themed event in LA. On 10/28, they will help introduce a new generation of listeners to the seminal R&B group’s music with the release of the EP It’s Still About Time.

For the EP, Bogart and his creative team recruited some of today’s hottest R&B artists – GRAMMY-nominated songwriter, singer, actress and businesswoman Tayla Parx, Say She She, Dizzy Fae, and MA/SA – to record completely new versions of some of the biggest SWV hits written and produced by Brian Alexander Morgan. Morgan, whose catalog Seeker acquired in 2020, co-wrote and produced most of It’s About Time, along with several of SWV’s follow up albums. Today, Seeker dropped the lead single from the EP, “I’m So Into You,” re-imagined by Parx. (Listen HERE)

And to tee up the celebration of the EP, Seeker will also host an SWV-themed takeover of LA-based R&B party “Friends with Benefits” on 10/23. More information on the event, which will also double as an EP-listening party and early preview, HERE

Tayla Parx said, "I’m really happy to be able to share my take on an iconic song that I grew up listening to! As a singer/songwriter I appreciate when a song has a well formulated structure wise and melody on top of being able to seamlessly convey a heartfelt message in a way that is accessible to all. My version of I'm So Into You is what I feel like a 2022 version should sound like and I hope it touches a new generation of listeners just like it did for me!"

The SWV campaign is the latest example of the unique approach that Seeker takes to catalog marketing, taking the rights they’ve acquired and bringing them to audiences in new, original ways. Founded in 2020, it’s their different approach that’s built them a catalog of 11,000 copyrights and master recordings in just two years. “We treat every catalog like it's a brand new artist/writer/producer that we just signed,” Bogart says. “Because you know what? It’s new and exciting for us, and deserves to be celebrated!”
