Shane Gonzales Announces the Return of Midnight Rave

Returning to his hometown of Los Angeles, Shane taps A-Trak, Yves Tumor, A$AP Lou, and more to celebrate Midnight Rave

(Los Angeles, CA - October 6, 2021) Midnight Rave, an experiential brand fusing fashion and music, returns to Los Angeles on October 6th in partnership with NTWRK. For the first time since 2019, the brand will celebrate with DJ sets by A-Trak, A$AP Lou, Yves Tumor, and other surprise musical guests. In tandem with the event, Midnight Rave will release its Fall/Winter 2021 collection.

Midnight Rave was created by A$AP Rocky as his brainchild to express his views on youth culture and rebellion. Rocky brought on Shane to spearhead this initiative and create a viable entry point for those looking to explore streetwear and music in an accessible way. On October 6th, Shane Gonzales  and Midnight Rave will bring to life the very essence of the brand, with help from BLK Water, Courvoisier, and Happy Hour Tequila Seltzers.

In partnership with NTWRK, North America’s premiere livestream shopping platform, Midnight Rave will livestream the event for the first time as the official afterparty on Day 1 of NTWRK's flagship festival Transfer. Viewers worldwide will be able to virtually attend on the NTWRK app from 11 PM to 3 AM, with select exclusive pieces from the collection also available for purchase during that time.

“Midnight Rave has been an important part of Midnight Studios since founding it with Rocky in 2016. After a tumultuous two years, we are ready to bring back Midnight Rave to celebrate the brand with our friends and family. Giving back to our community has always been a priority, and Midnight Rave is our opportunity to engage with everyone who has helped us come this far, and who will continue to make the brand what it is,” Shane Gonzales, Founder and Creative Director, Midnight Studios.

Inspired by the upcoming rave, the Fall/Winter 2021 collection includes hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts, shorts and accessories such as sunglasses, hats, and a watch. All products are produced locally in Los Angeles and designed by Shane Gonzales. Hero pieces in the collection include an oversized- yellow t-shirt with the slogan “Don’t Smoke! Rave!” and a cotton hoodie with an anime character designed by artist Dying in Kyoto specifically for Midnight Rave. Prices for the collection range from $60-$150.

Los Angeles natives have the chance to shop Midnight Rave’s FW21 collection first, at a pop-up shop in LA’s Arts District on October 5th and 6th. Purchases from the pop-up is the only form of entry into the rave. Each product purchased will include a wristband that admits one to the event on October 6th. On October 8th, Midnight Rave will make the collection available online for the first time ever at MidnightRave.com.  Previously the brand was only available in the physical pop up shops so this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand.

ABOUT MIDNIGHT RAVE

Midnight Rave, the euphoria filled 90’s electronic inspired sub-label of Midnight Studios was established in 2017 as a collaborative project between musician, A$AP Rocky, and the designer Shane Gonzales. The label celebrates their love for nostalgia culture and the dawn of the rave world. 

 

ABOUT SHANE GONZALES

Born and raised in Southern California, Shane quickly was immersed in the skateboarding and music scene in Los Angeles. At 19 years old Shane combined his admiration for design and punk rock culture and founded his first official artistic endeavor, Midnight Studios. Rooted in music since 2014, Midnight Studios take an avant-garde and non-traditional approach to the parallel between Rock n’ Roll and youth street style culture which Gonzales has deemed as the “anti-aesthetic”. Now in 2021 Shane has propelled Midnight Studios into various audiences with collaborators such Off-White, Converse, A$AP Rocky’s “AWGE” label, The Rolling Stones, Kendrick Lamar and even Courtney Love. Although a fixture in many spheres across the music and fashion industry, Shane’s work as an  artistic director has caught the eye of millions with his most recent work being with Playboi Carti. From the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to his performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami.
