FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, JUNE 23 — When SHOWX introduced their ticketing platform earlier this year, they aimed to reinvent the touring infrastructure for the musician middle class, encouraging transparency and putting fan data in the hands of artists rather than venues and promoters. They are now putting those ambitions into action as the platform announces dozens of shows across the United States in partnership with a range of artists, venues, and organizations.

These shows are a realization of SHOWX’s vision for a more equitable touring future. Some upcoming events include:

—A partnership with Burning Man for an official virtual “burn” that will be livestreamed as part of this year’s events. Artists including The Last Real Circus, Purple Kief, and The Roof will perform from The Station in Woodstock, NY.

—The opening night of the Bluebird Music Festival with Jonathan Russell of The Head and the Heart at The Rayback Collective in Boulder, CO.

—Nicole Atkins’ Pool-Ooza, a pair of long-delayed Nashville release shows for her “irresistible” (Uncut) new album Italian Ice at The Dive Motel on July 15 and 16.

—A coast-to-coast national tour from Richmond indie rockers The Last Real Circus, who have fully incorporated SHOWX into their tour planning and execution. “SHOWX has enabled us to manage the growth of our band’s business and has given us the tools to expand into new tour markets,” says the band’s Jason Farlow. “Having access to the data of our fans will allow us to build deeper, longer-lasting connections and a sustainable touring profile.”

—Multiple dates for former The Voice contestant Jacob Miller, including The Cutting Room in NYC on August 25. Says Miller: “ShowX affords artists the opportunity to self-book tours, and build momentum by restructuring the way venue, artist and fan relationships work.”

—The first post-pandemic show from eclectic global fusion collective Iqram & the Immigrant Groove at SOBs in NYC on September 18. SHOWX founder Lincoln Schofield credits the guidance and mentorship of Iqram Magdon-Ismail — who, along with leading the Immigrant Groove is the co-founder of Venmo and Ense —  for the early development and realization of SHOWX’s mission.
