Today (5.1), “6 7” rapper Skrilla releases his new album'Z' via Capitol Records/Priority Records. Spanning 23 tracks, the project marks a major turning point for the Philly native, closing the chapter on his drug-fueled underground rise and introducing a more focused, refined, and fully realized version of the artist.

Still raw and unpredictable, 'Z' gives Skrilla the space to tell his story with more depth and intention, tapping into the lived experience, survival, and ambition that have shaped him from the start. With features from NBA YoungBoy to Lil Yachty, the project expands the world around one of hip-hop’s most fascinating new voices.

Listen to 'Z' here.

The album is bookended by “Black Jesus (Intro)” and “Black Jesus (Outro),” two moments that ground 'Z' in the world Skrilla comes from. Before heading to the studio, Skrilla wanted to bring a real voice from Kensington into the album, not a polished feature or industry co-sign, but someone from the neighborhood whose presence could help carry the spirit of the place that shaped him. The result gives 'Z' a deeper sense of place, making clear that as Skrilla steps into something bigger, he is still carrying his roots with him.

That balance between Skrilla’s origins and his evolution comes into sharp focus on standout single “Free 40” feat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again, a dark, urgent, and emotionally charged track that finds Skrilla and NBA YoungBoy in lockstep, delivering a record that is immediate and uncompromising from start to finish.

“Prada” feat. ffawty opens up one of the album’s most hypnotic pockets, pairing Skrilla’s raw, instinctive delivery with a melodic, atmospheric edge. While on “DOA” feat. Moskino, Skrilla leans into the harder, more relentless side of the project. The track is tense and high-impact, built around the kind of unfiltered energy that first made Skrilla a force in Philly’s underground while pointing toward the sharper execution of this new chapter.

Following the breakout of “Doot Doot (6 7),” from sports highlight reels and TikTok to daytime TV and South ParkSkrilla heads into 'Z' as both an artist and cultural phenom.

About Skrilla:

At the center of the cultural wave “6 7” is Skrilla, the Philly native whose viral “Doot Doot (6 7)” has evolved from an underground release into one of 2025’s defining anthems — with Dictionary.com even crowning “6 7” 2025’s Word of the Year. From NBA and NFL highlight reels to TikTok feeds and classrooms across the country, the “6 7” chant has truly been cemented as part of the cultural lexicon. Celebrities from Kim Kardashian to Natasha Bedingfield have joined the trend, and it has been featured in conversation on The Today Show, Live with Kelly and Mark and even South Park — which devoted an entire episode to the phenomenon. Gearing up to release a new project, 2026 is shaping up to be Skrilla’s biggest year yet.
