Stephan Moccio Celebrates Resilience, Rebirth and a Return to Solo Piano on New Album Lionheart out Today via Decca Records

Fourteen Song LP Continues the Oscar-Nominated and Multi-Platinum Songwriter/Producer's Ascent Among the Most-Streamed Pianists in the World

Stephan Moccio has unveiled Lionheart today, a brand new collection channeling perseverance, catharsis, and new beginnings through the vivid melodic tapestry of his stunning piano. Crafting fourteen distinctive and evocative sonic landscapes, Moccio's work on Lionheart radiates with hope and healing as only his nuanced mastery of the instrument can convey. From the transportive powers of "Le Jardin de Monsieur Monet" and "Castles In Spain," to the pensive reflection of "Halston" and the tranquil warmth of "Fireflies," the album possesses a universe to get lost in, no matter what the listener might be feeling at that moment. With this in mind, it's no surprise that Moccio has emerged as one of the world’s most-streamed pianists in the past year; a constant of emotional support during an unprecedented and unpredictable stretch for so many. “If you look up the meaning of ‘lionhearted,’ it means having bravery and determination,” says Moccio. “I created this album because I very much needed to. It feels so positive, like a rebirth.”

Accumulating over 400 million streams for this solo piano work, Moccio's return to his musical roots is just the latest example of success in one of music's most eclectic and celebrated careers. The Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based musician has also earned seven hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, three Grammy nominations and an Oscar nomination through collaborations with The Weeknd ("Earned It"), Miley Cyrus (“Wrecking Ball”), Celine Dion (“A New Day Has Come”) and more. Working across genres and generations, Moccio’s sustained resonance can be attributed to what has been described as a “rare gift of delivering emotionally charged tales of love, loss and hope without words” (Billboard). But the throughline has always been Moccio’s unwavering commitment in remaining true to himself: “I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I don’t really worry about other people’s opinions, and it felt right to name the album for the sort of courage that we all want to feel.”
