Stephan Moccio Offers A Transportive Journey Across Sonic Worlds With New Song “Castles In Spain”

New Album Lionheart out October 15th on Decca Records; the next chapter in the Oscar and Grammy-nominated, Multi-Platinum Songwriter’s Ascendant Solo Piano Career

Stephan Moccio has shared "Castles in Spain" today, a new original composition that serves as a prime example of the piano's singular and vivid ability to conjure different time periods, places and worlds. Penned by Moccio in Los Angeles as he began a cathartic journey of healing, "Castles In Spain" underlines why the multi-Platinum, Academy Award-nominated virtuoso has described solo piano as "the best therapy"; and with over 200 million streams on his instrumental work during a tumultuous past year, it's clear Moccio is not alone in that thought. Channeling his creative and evocative musical touch to capture the mesmerizing elegance of a country he's never actually traveled to, "Castles In Spain" paints a stunning sonic portrait of tranquility, inspiration and escape.

"Castles In Spain" comes from Moccio's new solo piano album Lionheart, out October 15th via Decca Records. The fourteen-song collection comes as the culmination of Moccio's prolific and ascendant return to his musical roots in recent years - which has quickly resulted in his place among the most streamed modern piano players in the world. It also marks the latest example of success in a career that's included penning seven hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, three Grammy nominations, and collaborations with The Weeknd ("Earned It"), Miley Cyrus (“Wrecking Ball”), Celine Dion (“A New Day Has Come”) and more. Above all, Lionheart finds Moccio redefining the possibilities of piano music on his own terms: “if you look up the meaning of ‘lionhearted,’ it means having bravery and determination,” says Moccio. “I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I don’t really worry about other people’s opinions, and it felt right to name the album for the sort of courage that we all want to feel.”
