Stephen Stills & Judy Collins Share A Moving Tribute To Leonard Cohen, Title Track From Their Upcoming LP 'Everybody Knows'
Stills & Collins Kick Off 45+ Date U.S. Tour This Wednesday In Chicago
Stephen Stills and Judy Collins have shared the first taste of their debut collaborative album ‘Everybody Knows,’ a touching duet honoring Collins’ longtime friend and collaborator Leonard Cohen. Due out September 22 on Wildflower/Cleopatra, ‘Everybody Knows’ features a trove of gems from Stills and Collins’ five-decade history. The pair met in 1967 and began a tumultuous relationship, immortalized in Stephen’s iconic hit “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.” 50 years later, they reunited in Los Angeles to record ‘Everybody Knows.’ In addition to sharing the title track, Stills and Collins have just revealed the full tracklist, which is available below.

“Everybody Knows” holds special significance for Collins, who was the first artist to ever sing Leonard Cohen’s work. Collaborating since the early 1960s, Judy recorded Cohen classics like “Suzanne” and “Bird On A Wire” before he even did. This record marks Judy’s first-ever version of “Everybody Knows” and her first time recording Cohen’s work since his passing. Coupled with Stills’ rich baritone and legendary guitar work, this impassioned ballad takes on a life of its own.
The full album will also include Stills and Collins revisiting the first song they ever recorded together (1968's "Who Knows Where The Time Goes”) and dueting on "Judy," a demo Stephen tracked in the late 60s which remained lost for decades. "Houses" is a particular standout, a tribute from Judy to Stephen penned for her 1975 Platinum-selling 'Judith.' "Houses" was one of only three originals Judy recorded on the breakout album. Stills’ "Questions" is another notable from the collection, recorded for Buffalo Springfield’s ‘Last Time Around,’ and later revisited on the second section of “Carry On,” from the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young opus ‘Déjà Vu.' Judy even penned a brand-new original for ‘Everybody Knows,’ entitled “River Of Gold.”
The duo embarks on a U.S. tour this week that will run through November, marking their first time performing on stage together. A full list of dates is below, beginning at Ravinia Pavilion outside of Chicago this Wednesday July 26.
