ABOUT DR. MARTENS

www.drmartens.com

The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on the 1st April 1960. With its trademark yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel-loop, it was a boot for workers, initially worn by postmen and policemen; comfortable, durable and lightweight in comparison to its competitors at the time.

Throughout Dr. Martens history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by diverse individuals, musicians, youth cultures and tribes. These are the people who stand out from the crowd and their journey of self-expression has always been accompanied by a pair of DM’s.

The simple silhouette allows people to customize each pair; whilst on a utilitarian level their famous durability and comfort make them ideal footwear for the world of gigs and street fashion. On an emotional level, they are a flag of attitude and empowerment.

The Northamptonshire factory where it all began still exists to this day, in the village of Wollaston. A specific range of ‘Made In England’ products are manufactured here by a small, close-knit team of people schooled in traditional shoe-making and a process that hasn’t changed since our first pair six decades ago.

ABOUT SUNFLOWER BEAN

https://www.sunflowerbeanband.com/

Marked by two vocalists who often take turns within a song, Sunflower Bean is an indie rock trio out of NYC. Formed in late 2013 with singer/guitarist Nick Kivlen, singer/bassist Julia Cumming, and drummer Jacob Faber -- all in high school at the time -- they quickly earned attention for their alternately rock-edged and dreamy guitar tunes, after their first EP, Show Me Your Seven Secrets, arrived in January 2015. Later that year they were invited to open on tours for the likes of DIIV, The Vaccines, and Best Coast. Their debut album, Human Ceremony, was issued by Fat Possum in early 2016. They toured Human Ceremony internationally for the next year and a half, playing heavily in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, and China. In 2017, they were the direct support for both the Pixies and Wolf Alice. The band also managed to find time off in their hometown of NYC to write and record their sophomore album, Twentytwo in Blue, which was co-produced by Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Jacob Portrait and Matt Molnar (formerly of Friends). Twentytwo in Blue was released on March 23rd, 2018 via Mom+Pop Music and Lucky Number Music, almost exactly 2 years and 2 months from their debut album. All members were 22 years old when the record was created and released. Twentytwo in Blue debuted at #39 in the UK’s TOP 40 Album Charts and #16 on Billboard’s Independent Album Charts. In early 2019, the band released a new EP, “King Of The Dudes” which featured BBC1’s Hottest Record In The World, “Come For Me”. They recorded the EP in LA during the summer of 2018 with producer Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Angel Olsen, Sky Ferreira). “Come For Me” has become the band’s first single to chart in the US. It debuted at #37 in Billboard’s Triple A Rock Chart. Most recently, the band has released their single, "Moment in The Sun," produced by Dave Bassett (Vance Joy, Bishop Briggs, Fitz and the Tantrums) and Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal Orchestra) on September 18th garnering another Annie Mac / Radio 1’s "Hottest Record in the World". The video was directed by VMA-nominated directors Andy DeLuca (5 Seconds of Summer) and Sarah Eiseman. The video stars Marquis Rodriquez of Ava DuVerney’s When They See Us.

ABOUT BLIMES AND GAB

https://www.blimesandgab.com/

Presenting the dynamic rap duo comprised of Seattle MC Gifted Gab and San Francisco-bred Blimes Brixton. Together they are Blimes and Gab, your badass aunties who secure the B.A.G. Their first single “Come Correct” reached 10M+ views: a hell of a feat for a music video that was released on a wintry Friday night.

‍They have more than doubled their combined discography over the past year, each releasing a solo album and their latest collaboratives, “Un Deux Trois” and “Feelin It.” The witty duo have earned the respect of hip hop OGs like Method Man and Atmosphere with their silky-smooth spitting and debonair rhymes. Incredibly strong as solo artists, they are enigmatic as a pair. Their initial collaboration sparked a need for more music, both from their fans and the MCs themselves.

‍Their success was first predicted by Pandora & Next Big Sound in their 2018 overview of the “new class of female rappers,” alongside CupcakKe and Rico Nasty. Since then, they’ve received coverage from Billboard, The Hundreds, HipHopDX, Uproxx, Passion of the Weiss, Ambrosia for Heads, The Hype Magazine, and co-signs from Joyner Lucas and Rah Digga. This June, Blimes and Gab released their debut album as a group, Talk About It, which earned rave reviews from UPROXX, GRAMMY.com and more.‍

To put it quite simply, they’re your cool aunties who slipped you beers when you were 16, or took you to get your first tattoo. They want you to have fun, and they want to be there for it.‍

For every boss woman in your life who never apologizes for the reverb of her footsteps; for every powerful female who dares to change the game; this is Blimes and Gab.
