Today, with the release of her latest single "This Island," Susanna Hoffs shares another early look into The List: her new album of original music out September 18th, and an invitation to her most intimate, frank and personal conversations. Produced by CJ Camerieri (Bon Iver, Paul Simon, yMusic) and Susanna Hoffs, The List features "a dozen touching and witty songs based on tales from her life as an artist," says the Los Angeles Times. "Yet the music reflects an emotional wisdom that had to be earned through experience…The List was built to showcase Hoffs' rich storytelling."

Written by Susanna Hoffs with CJ Camerieri, Ny Oh and Grant Milliken, "This Island" finds Hoffs returning to the album's recurring meditation on loneliness and connection, where a relationship is cast as a complicated triangulation. Like all songs on the record, captured live in Hoffs' Los Angeles home, it began by an artist and her closest friends gathering around the kitchen table and sharing the stories that define oneself – from heartbreak to an empty nest, a new crush, foolish mistakes and the fading memory of what that might have been. It is all part of The List, as Susanna Hoffs turns her deepest, decade-spanning memories into a collection of 12 songs that not only reflect what it has meant to be alive and in love, but turn the page to a new chapter in her astounding artistic legacy.

Recognized the world over as the co-founder of the multi-platinum, chart-topping band The Bangles – who soundtracked an era with anthems like "Manic Monday," "Walk Like an Egyptian," "In Your Room" and "Eternal Flame" – Susanna Hoffs is best known to her inner circle for the stories she tells, who likes nothing more than to jam in her living room with a revolving cast of creative partners. On "This Island," she is joined by Ryan Lerman (guitar), Spencer Zahn (bass), Benny Bock (piano), Grant Milliken (rhodes, acetone), CJ Camerieri (horns), JT Bates (drums) and background vocals from Ny Oh and Arielle Kasnetz, while the album also includes collaborations with Rufus Wainwright, Dan Wilson, Edie Brickell, Greg Leisz, Desure, Jesse Harris, Larry Goldings and more who together shared laughter and tears over the course of vulnerable sessions and true confessions. 

Across The List, Susanna Hoffs channels her sense of humor, keen powers of observation and eye for detail into powerful statements of love and longing, loss and resilience, loneliness and limbo, reinvention and self-discovery. In addition to "This Island," recent single "Casablanca" delivered a meditation on unfinished romances suspended in time, inspired both by a rewatch of the film Casablanca, and the surreal New Orleans encounter Susanna Hoffs had with the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir in 1988, walking through the French Quarter as an impromptu parade of Dead Heads formed behind them.
