Today, NPR has released the Tiny Desk Concert for Tamino, the 22-year-old Egyptian/Lebanese/Belgian singer who NPR’s Bob Boilen has called “remarkable” with a “voice that at times soars like Jeff Buckley’s but also has a stunning lower range” reminiscent of Leonard Cohen.

The captivating performance features Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass and showcases Tamino’s otherworldly three-octave vocal range as he performs selections from his critically praised debut album ‘Amir.' Watch Tamino’s NPR Tiny Desk concert here: https://n.pr/2YmoYf8

The Tiny Desk Concert arrives ahead of Tamino’s fall North American tour, with stops at intimate venues across the US and Canada including Brooklyn’s National Sawdust, Moroccan Lounge in LA, and more. Full tour routing below.

Though he grew up in Antwerp, Belgium, Tamino is deeply connected to his Egyptian and Lebanese heritage - his grandfather was legendary Egyptian singer/actor Muharram Fouad, dubbed ‘The Sound of The Nile’ - and his music combines the traditions of his ancestors with more contemporary influences like Buckley, Nick Cave and Radiohead. Tamino's debut album Amir is out now and features a number of special guests, including Greenwood and Nagham Zikrayat, a Brussels-based orchestra comprised of Syrian and Iraqi refugees.

‘Amir’ has already drawn raves from NPRBBCThe Line of Best Fit and Vogue Hommes International, who recently featured Tamino in a ten-page spread. For more on Tamino’s story, listen to his interview with NPR All Things Considered: https://n.pr/2Yh2zDU
