“I’m honestly so grateful,” says Cobbs Leonard. “This season has been bigger than I could’ve imagined—not just for me, but for what it represents. To see these songs embraced the way they have been, and to be honored by BET in this way, is truly special. Thank you to every listener, every supporter, and everyone who has made space for my ministry through this music.”

The nominations arrive amid continued momentum for Cobbs Leonard’s acclaimed studio debut TASHA, her first-ever studio album after more than a decade of #1 live projects. The album debuted #1 on Billboard Top Gospel Albums, #1 Current Gospel Album, and #1 Top Christian/Gospel Album, earning widespread praise for its genre-blending ambition across gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and pop. The era has been fueled by breakout singles including the EGOT-assisted centerpiece “Church” featuring John Legend, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, and the fan-favorite “Already Good (Tasha Slide),” celebrated for its joy, energy, and cultural pull. The support has extended beyond radio and streaming into golden mainstream moments for gospel music, including a historic late-night performance of “Church” with Legend on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, followed by a powerful solo performance at the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony.

This chapter also includes major awards recognition: Cobbs Leonard is a two-time 2026 GRAMMY nominee (Best Gospel Album for TASHA and Best Gospel Performance/Song for “Church”) and recently earned her first-ever NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel/Christian Album for TASHA.

Most recently, Cobbs Leonard hosted TASHA UNSCRIPTED (Live Recording) — an unscripted, “mic toss” style live capture that brought her career's catalog to life through powerful performances and in-the-moment worship. The night featured an all-star lineup of special guests including Mickey Guyton, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Jonathan McReynolds, Israel Houghton, William Murphy, Le’Andria Johnson, Mike Todd, and many more. The recording offered a glimpse of what’s next, with more news and new project details to be announced soon.

With the 2026 BET Awards nominations, Tasha Cobbs Leonard continues a defining run that underscores her position as one of the most influential and essential voices in modern music.
