Terry Fator Makes Children's Book Debut with "Lamu, The Christmas Kitten"

Terry Fator is putting a new spin on Christmas with his debut children's book, "Lamu, The Christmas Kitten." Out now, "Lamu" sees Fator - the second highest-earning comedian in the U.S - conveying his deeply held Christian beliefs through a tender, original yuletide tale.

"Lamu, The Christmas Kitten" tells the story of a blind kitten who is adopted by a little girl, Sarah, and her ailing mother, Miriam. Both are servants to a family of innkeepers in Bethlehem. During a chance visit by the Virgin Mary and Joseph to the inn, Lamu is miraculously able to see a light emanating from Mary: it's the Baby Jesus. In an effort to find help for the little girl's mother, Lamu follows the light -- and Mary and Joseph -- through Bethlehem. Adventures ensue, and Lamu ultimately meets the Christ Child.

For Fator, the book is a way of showing his audience the human side of Jesus. "It's a whole new spin on the Christmas story," he says. "We have lots of so-and-so saved Christmas stories -- not to knock them, I watch Rudolph every year -- but this is different. I want to make Jesus Christ feel real and human to kids, because he was. I want people to fall in love with Christ through Lamu."

"Lamu, The Christmas Kitten," the first book in Fator's planned "Lamu" series, is edited and illustrated by Stephen Wedan, with whom Fator collaborated on his song "Horses in Heaven." The book is available to purchase on the Amazon Kindle Store, and will be available via Google, SONY, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple in the coming days.

In addition to "Lamu, The Christmas Kitten," upcoming projects for Fator include a memoir, a novel, a country music CD titled "It Starts Tonight," and a new DVD entitled 'Terry Fator: Live In Concert.'
