The Nacelle Company To Release Documentary Dons Of Disco

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Nacelle Company has announced they’re releasing the shocking documentary, Dons of Disco, through their hybrid distribution system composed of Comcast, Amazon Prime Video, Spectrum, Apple TV, Dish, Google Play, DirecTV, Vimeo, YouTube and many more on February 23, 2021.

Dons of Disco unearths a shocking, little-known chapter of pop music history. In the 1980s, Italian heartthrob Den Harrow dominated the European charts with hits “Future Brain,” “Bad Boy,” and “Don’t Break My Heart.” Thirty years later, American Tom Hooker alleges that he was “the secret voice” behind the project, and frontman Stefano Zandri has been lip-syncing for decades. Hell hath no fury like an ‘Italo Disco’ star scorned…

In this true-life Faustian saga, a 30-year-old secret, between two middle-aged men, ignites the most conceptual music rivalry of all time. Who is the “true” artist behind Den Harrow: the face or the voice?

Dons of Disco screened at the 2019 Slamdance Film Festival and won a Jury Award at the 2019 Lighthouse International Film Festival.

GQ called Dons of Disco “Perfectly crafted! Spinal Tap meets Shakespeare! The film is philosophical, but also really, really, funny.”

Deadline said “Could Dons of Disco be the new Searching for Sugarman?”

Rolling Stone said the film “Tells the truth about one of Italo Disco’s most iconic singers,”

“I’m thankful that The Nacelle Company will be releasing ‘Dons of Disco’ and helping audiences discover the rich history and thought-provoking rivalry behind the music of Den Harrow,” said Jonathan Sutak.

“When you combine 80s disco music, an Italian lip syncing scandal and a sprinkle of true crime, you’re surely going to be in for something unique and interesting,” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company.

Anna Roberts of The Nacelle Company and Steven C. Beer of Franklin Weinrib Rudell & Vassallo negotiated the deal.
