A GRAMMY-winning songwriter, producer and artist, Daniel Tashian is Nashville’s secret weapon for eclectic music that transcends genre boundaries. Before working on records with Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Vance Joy, Brittney Spencer and so many others, Tashian led vocals and guitar for his own band called The Silver Seas, a group inspired by the classic pop-meets-rock music of the 1970s.
Today (4.19), The Silver Seas will re-release its 2010 album 'Château Revenge!’ via Big Yellow Dog Music, offering music fans the chance to listen on streaming services for the first time ever. The 12-track record was co-produced by Tashian and Jason Lehning, and entirely written or co-written by Tashian.

Made up of the cream of the crop of Music City’s artist community, The Silver Seas features Tashian on lead vocals and guitar, along with producer/keyboardist Jason Lehning (George Jones, Alison Krauss), bassist John Deaderick (James Taylor, Emmylou Harris) and drummer David Gehrke, who also opened some of East Nashville’s most beloved bars.
The Silver Seas debuted in 2004 with its self-pressed record 'Starry Gazey Pei,’ which NPR praised for its “tight, multi-layered harmonies, jangly guitars, infectious rhythms and breezy melodies.”
'Château Revenge!,’ the band’s third album, is a theatrical, yet autobiographical, collection of songs that sound like a coming of age soundtrack as one discovers the whirlwind of adulthood emotions. Through the prism of television and movies, The Silver Seas take listeners through a journey of failed relationships, what you learn from them, and the redemption that can be found afterwards.
Tashian, who continues to write, produce and create music in Nashville, was a collaborator on the recent Musgraves release ‘Deeper Well’ (March 15), as well as Brittney Spencer's critically acclaimed ‘My Stupid Life’ (January 19) and more. He produced Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s ‘Love Hate Music Box’ album which will be released on May 10th.
