Third Annual Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival Announces Schedule for Saturday, July 16

Free Festival to Take Place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens
Additional Backyard Bash Activities include: Big Apple Circus, Beer Gardens, Live DJs, Arts & Crafts & Face Painting

 

(New York, NY) Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival has announced the full schedule for their third annual festival in Queens, where Armstrong famously resided for more than twenty years. Taking place at the historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Saturday, July 16, this daylong event will celebrate the life and legacy of the jazz great. It's all ages and will take place from 12PM to 8PM.

The Mainstage:

12pm - Festival Gates Open

1pm - Samba New York

2pm - Dahka Band

3pm - Folklore Urbano

4pm - Kermit Ruffins

5:30pm - Soulive

7pm - Dr. John

 

In addition to music, festivalgoers can enjoy the various Backyard Bash Activities:

Attendees will also have access to food vendors including: Gorilla Cheese NYC, Andy's Italian Ices, Luke's Lobster, Nuchas Empanadas, and more.

1-4pm - The Panorama of New York City open in the Queens Museum

1-7pm - Indoor beer garden open at the Queens Museum with sets by DJ Cochon de Lait

1-7pm - Indoor beer garden open at the Queens Theatre

2pm - Discussion on Louis Armstrong's New Orleans' roots with The Louis Armstrong House Museum's Ricky Riccardi at the Cabaret Room

3pm - 2nd Discussion on Louis Armstrong's New Orleans' roots with The Louis Armstrong House Museum's Ricky Riccardi at the Cabaret Room

1-5pm - Face painting

3-5pm - The Big Apple Circus

The 2016 Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival is produced by the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College. Partners include Queens College/CUNY, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Queens Museum, and the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Major funding is provided by the Kupferberg Family.
