Thurston Moore Signs London-Based South American Multi-Instrumentalist Attawalpa
LONDON, UK (September 17, 2025) - The Daydream Library Series has announced the exclusive Dolby Atmos-mastered release of Experience by Attawalpa, out September 19 on streaming platforms Apple Music, Amazon Music & Tidal. We are ecstatic to inform the planet that London-based South American multi-instrumentalist Luis Felber (Attawalpa) has signed to Thurston Moore and Eva Prinz’s independent record label, Daydream Library Series.
In the first artist signing agreement of its kind, the Daydream Library Series label will release, quite specifically, the Dolby Atmos edition of the album Experience by Attawalpa. Moore says of the arrangement — delineating the Dolby Atmos masters, “It is with a mutual respect and understanding of the surround sound technology, we trust Luis Felber with his articulate insight of height channels and free-moving sound objects to interpret his already gorgeously spaced-out album ‘Experience’ with three-dimensional objects with neither horizontal nor vertical limitations." Thurston’s partner, Eva Prinz has stated “The Daydream label remains focused on digital releases,” and reports “we are working with digital signal processing platforms to continue to explore technologies which intend to improve upon the quality of distribution/streaming and interactions of our artist’s recordings, story telling and art”.
Fresh off gigs at 2025 Glastonbury and London’s Electric Ballroom supporting The Lemonheads, Attawalpa self-released their stunning second album, Experiencefeaturing ten outstanding tracks to swooning fans – Sonic Youth’s Thurston Mooreamong them! “As a lifelong fan of his guitar wielding, songwriting, iconic cultural contribution and all around craft, I understandably flipped out when I received a text from Thurston saying how much he was enjoying my album Experience. It’s beyond a pleasure and an honour to be a Daydream Library artist. I love each and every artist and release they have put out. Here’s to the future of guitar music and here’s to Attawalpa’s Dolby Atmos Experience.”
Track 8 of the album “True Love Trajectory” was recently featured on critically-acclaimed Netflix series Too Much created by Felber with his partner Lena Dunham. Felber invited Dunham to direct a sumptuous music video filmed on Super 8. For the video, Dunham explained, “I wanted to capture the joy and pleasure of marriage, good old-fashioned romance with a modern edge, contrasted against the hopeful confusion of waiting for someone you love (maybe someone you will soon love) to arrive. The song is nostalgic and warm, just like the Super 8 film, and it was a joy to film so many pals, old and new, in the London we love best.”
Attawalpa’s previous album Presence was released in 2022 and he has also released two EPs. Felber’s artist name is taken from his full name, which is Luis Delfin Attawalpa Saul Felber. “Since I was a child…” Felber explains, “music and songs have given me safe and wonderful worlds to live in. I hope listeners can do the same with ours.
Attawalpa began life as a de facto solo project. “At first it was [producer/ bassist/co-conspirator] Matt Allchin and myself,” Felber recalls, but “slowly it’s grown into this 5-6-piece family, in which everyone’s creative, and we all have each other’s backs”. That “family” – drummer Henry Danowski, veteran percussionist Maurizio Ravalico (Jamiroquai), Viola player Freya Hicks, keyboardist/tubular bell player Adam Sopp in addition to lynchpins Felber and Allchin – are responsible for the co-construction of Experience. The album was mixed by Eduardo de la Paz, and mastered in Dolby Atmos by Dyre Gormsen exclusively for the Daydream Library Series.
