Who is Whitney Wolanin? – short form bio

• June 29, 1990: Whitney Margaret Wolanin is born, with hair so light it looks like she’s bald…not a great look.
• 1995: Whitney has her first piano lesson.
• 2001: Whitney begins songwriting, her first song entitled “Falling Into Like” was about as good as its title, but it was certainly a jumping-off point.
• 2002: At the ripe age of 12, Whitney decides she will be a recording artist as her career, and tells her family so. In an attempt to discourage her from such a difficult career, Whitney’s dad makes her audition for Bob Babbitt, legendary bass player of the Funk Brothers. Bob thinks Whitney has what it takes.
• 2003: Whitney, age 13, begins her first professional recording session with Bob Babbitt and Ed Greene, among other remarkable studio musicians.
• 2005: In tribute to her favorite holiday, Whitney records the rocked-up Christmas song “Frosty the Snowman”, which becomes an international power recurrent at radio.
• 2005-2008: Whitney continues to write and experiment with her musical style, including the release of “So Close”, featured in multiple MTV shows i.e. The Hills.
• 2008: Whitney attends Vanderbilt University, studying Human and Organizational Development and Music, and graduates magna cum laude in only three years.
• 2012: Finally out of college, Whitney releases her radio single “Honesty”, which reaches #21 on the MediaBase AC chart. She gets very excited every time she hears a song of hers on the radio. A new mix of “Frosty the Snowman” charts at #13 on Billboard for Christmas.
• 2013: Whitney releases “Wrong Guy (I Did It This Time)” which peaks at #15 on the MediaBase AC chart, and people all across the world get it stuck in their heads. For Christmas, Whitney will release the sensationally danceable “Run, Run Rudolph”.
