“It’s a heartfelt marriage of spooky synths and acoustic love-strumming,” said Trixie about the sonic direction. “I was so excited to write this album and it started out as a fun at-home project just for my own enjoyment.”
The forthcoming LP calls to mind the acoustic-driven energy of Trixie’s debut album, ‘Two Birds’, which is nearing its decennial anniversary next year. The new record is the next installment of Trixie Mattel’s ever-evolving and versatile music catalog, which has included everything from her work in the aforementioned electronic DJ and folk worlds, respectively, as well as the surf-rock found on her ‘Barbara’ album and the plugged-in alternative garage sound of her double LP ‘The Blonde & Pink Albums’.
Outside of music, Trixie Mattel has become a pillar of the pop culture zeitgeist, with a plethora of creative endeavors including a NY Times Best-Selling book, an award-winning podcast, sold-out comedy tours, beloved digital content, her Trixie Cosmetics beauty empire, and an impressive reality TV resume which includes winning the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, starring in her own television show Trixie Motel (where she designed and opened her own Palm Springs motel), and serving as a judge on two seasons of the singing competition Queen of the Universe.
Trixie has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Kelly Clarkson Show, the Drew Barrymore Show, and After Midnight, has been profiled on the covers of The Hollywood Reporter, OUT Magazine, Alternative Press & Los Angeles Magazine as well as by NPR, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Billboard, Vogue, GQ, Pitchfork, and more, and has amassed over 7.7 million followers across her social media.
Trixie Mattel is represented by Producer Entertainment Group, Creative Artists Agency and Shore Fire Media.
