“Ukulele Hero” (Rolling Stone) Kicks Off US Tour in NYC 10.02

Jake Shimabukuro Teams Up With Housing Works to Fight AIDS

On Tuesday, October 2nd, "ukulele hero" (Rolling Stone) Jake Shimabukuro will bring his “stunning” (NY Post) live show to NYC’s Housing Works Bookstore Café. Shimabukuro will perform a solo set benefiting the nonprofit bookstore’s mission of fighting AIDS and homelessness.

The evening will celebrate the release of Shimabukuro’s new album, ‘Grand Ukulele’ (Oct. 2), and kick off his upcoming 30+ date US tour. Produced by Alan Parsons (The Beatles' 'Abbey Road' and Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon') 'Grand Ukulele' "fuses a multitude of genres" (Billboard) and further demonstrates the "buoyant musicianship and brisk proficiency" (NY Times) that has critics calling him the “Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele” (Guitar Player).

Listen to Shimabukuro "display his mastery" on the Billboard-championed new song "Island Fever Blues": http://www.tinyurl.com/958kb9b
