Ukulele Master Leads Renaissance On Live DVD

Jake Shimabukuro continues "leading a ukulele renaissance" (PBS) with the release of his new concert DVD, 'Grand Ukulele: Live in Boulder,' this week.

Recorded live at the Boulder Theater in Colorado, the DVD features material from Jake's 2012 album 'Grand Ukulele,' which garnered praise for its “intricate originals and shrewdly arranged pop covers” (NY Times) and “bravura instrumentals” (Wall Street Journal).

Shimabukuro demonstrates “remarkable skill” (NPR), and “virtuosic chops” (Billboard) on his original compositions while reinventing iconic pop songs including Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody” and George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," the cover that skyrocketed him to fame after a video of him performing it in 2006 went viral on YouTube.
