‘Vitamin String Quartet Performs the Hits of 2018 Vol. 2’ transforms pop favorites into chamber music, out Dec. 7

Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) continues to erase boundaries between classical, dance, hip-hop and pop with their latest release, ‘VSQ Performs the Hits of 2018 Vol. 2,’ out December 7 via CMH Label Group. “You’ve never heard pop hits like this before,” says USA TODAY. The collective’s latest set reinterprets songs from across the musical spectrum, including the late rapper XXXTENTACION’s “SAD!”; EDM DJ/producer Zedd and country singer Maren Morris’ multi-format chart-topper, “The Middle”; and BLACKPINK’s international K-pop smash “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.”

VSQ is one of the most-streamed contemporary string ensembles, and ‘VSQ Performs the Hits of 2018 Vol. 2’ follows the first volume of inventive renditions of this year’s most popular tunes, which featured songs originally recorded by Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes and others. 

From appearances on HBO's Westworld, to the Sean Penn-directed film The Last Face to TV hits like Modern Family and Shameless, VSQ's "atmospheric" (Thrillist) hits have made "classical versions of pop music cool, [by] infusing the drama of mainstream composition into the classical community" (New York Observer).
