Winterfest hosts the masses at opening weekend
25,000 people came out to participate in cultural programming and winter attractions and check out the local artisans
(New York, NY) Winterfest, an inaugural holiday celebration, kicked off on Black Friday this past weekend on the grounds of the Brooklyn Museum. Featuring local artisans, cultural programming and winter attractions the festival hosted 25,000 visitors in 3 days since its launch.
“We had 2 very good days at Winterfest as families and adults from the neighborhood and also from as far as Connecticut came to visit. We are looking forward to the next few days of the event,” Kristina Rasina from Alma Knitwear, a vendor at Winterfest said.
Occupying 40,000 square feet between the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the merry festivities will run seven days a week through December 31st. Winterfest is the quintessential outing for community members, families, friends, tourists, and groups for work parties and school trips. With visitors coming from all over the world, Winterfest is one of the highlights of New York’s holiday season with fun activities for everyone, including Vinopolis Wine Tasting, The Chocolate Dome Story, Life is Beautiful Stage, Spectacular Menorah, Enchanted Tree Maze, Santa Land, Beer Garden and vendors. Entrance to the festival is free and open to the public with select paid attractions.
