Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and climate activist Oscar Stembridge releases his debut EP, Thir13en, via fan-powered music platform Corite. Thir13en is a powerful statement on his experience navigating our tumultuous world. The EP arrives on the heels of Oscar receiving a 2022 Denniz Pop Award nomination in the “Rookie Artist of The Year” category. Thir13en was inspired by a personal journal entry, in which Oscar created a visual diagram of his associations with being 13, writing “restart the world,” “dare to be different” and “climate anxiety.” At the age of 14, he has already penned impressively authentic songs that grapple with the specific struggles of today’s youth, such as climate change, bullying and social alienation. Oscar’s introspective lyricism shines through on singles such as “Fake Front” and “Don’t Lie To Me,” in which 50% of the campaign proceeds from the song have directly supported Climate Live and their work to raise awareness of climate issues while organizing events that aim to hold world leaders accountable.
Working with acclaimed artist developer and vocal coach “Mama Jan” Smith (Justin Bieber, Usher), Oscar is broadening his international appeal. To celebrate the release of Thir13en, Oscar is performing a special livestream broadcast live from Mama's Music House (home of Jan Smith Studios) in Atlanta, Georgia.

One of the most exciting new talents to emerge from Sweden, Oscar became the youngest artist to sign with Universal Music in Sweden when he was only 10 years old. Since then, the budding star has proven himself a musical force, performing for the Swedish Royal Family and inspiring thousands of fans around the world through his dedication to environmentalism. Oscar is an ambassador for TogetherBand, SurfersAgainstSewage and a Fridays For Future climate activist, and has penned protest songs that capture the mood of his generation. His dedication to climate activism not only inspires his lyrical messaging, but he has performed his Thir13en single “Don’t Lie To Me” at Climate Live, a series of international concerts organized by youth climate activists such as Greta Thunberg. Shortly after his performance at Climate Live, he received a personal invitation from Greta Thunberg to participate in, and perform at, Fridays For Future in Stockholm.
Independent from a label, Oscar worked closely with Corite on fan-powered campaigns to release his new music on streaming platforms. Supporters of Oscar contributed funding to back the project, and will receive a share of the revenue generated when Thir13en is streamed across all streaming platforms, making this release a triumph in disrupting the traditional record label model.
