New York, NY -- Aaron Watson is the first solo male artist to debut at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart with a self-released and independently distributed/promoted studio album.
'The Underdog' sold 26,340 its first week and is also the second highest Billboard 200 debut at #8, behind only Imagine Dragons. Aaron is also the highest debut on the Billboard Artist 100, at #44, a chart that ranks the top acts of all genres each week with a methodology that combines sales, airplay, streaming and social data.
'The Underdog' is Aaron's 12th career release and was produced by Keith Stegall and marketed by Thirty Tigers. This is Aaron's first #1 on the Top Country Albums chart and highest debut on the 200.
