CHICAGO, IL (August 3, 2026) — Fresh off one of the largest world tours ever by a Japanese artist, global Japanese superstar Ado made her highly anticipated Lollapalooza debut on Sunday, August 2, closing the festival's Airbnb Stage with a powerful, high-energy performance that drew thousands of fans and filled the area surrounding the 15,000-capacity stage.
One of the world's premier music festivals, Lollapalooza 2026 featured headliners including Charli XCX, Olivia Dean, and JENNIE. Since its inception, the festival has welcomed legendary artists such as Nirvana, Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and Olivia Rodrigo. This year, Ado and YOASOBI represented Japan on the festival lineup, further highlighting the continued global rise of Japanese music.
Fans began gathering well before showtime, chanting Ado's name as anticipation built around the Airbnb Stage. Throughout her nearly nonstop 45-minute set, Ado delivered 10 songs, including fan favorites "AiAiA," her latest single "Monstruo,” the official theme song for the upcoming BLUE LOCK live-action film, and closed with the global smash "New Genesis" from ONE PIECE FILM RED. The performance showcased the commanding vocals, electrifying stage presence, and emotional intensity that have established Ado as one of Japan's most celebrated and internationally acclaimed artists.

The performance marked another milestone in Ado's rapidly expanding global career, following her record-breaking Hibana World Tour and historic stadium performances in Japan.

A 23-year-old utaite singer, Ado became a mainstream phenomenon with her 2020 major label debut, "Usseewa," which sparked a cultural sensation across Japan. Her first album, Kyougen, and UTA'S SONGS ONE PIECE FILM RED, featuring the seven songs she performed for the blockbuster film, both topped the charts and became enduring commercial successes.
In 2024, Ado embarked on her first world tour and made history as the first female solo artist to perform at Japan National Stadium.
Celebrating her fifth anniversary with the release of her first greatest hits album, Ado's Best Adobum, Ado launched Ado WORLD TOUR 2025 "Hibana" Powered by Crunchyroll - one of the largest world tours ever by a Japanese artist. Spanning five continents, the tour included 34 shows across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America, drawing approximately 500,000 fans worldwide. The tour featured 25 sold-out arena performances, including Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena and Newark's Prudential Center, while also setting merchandise sales records at venues around the globe.
Following the tour, Ado returned to Japan for her first-ever dome tour before headlining two historic performances at Nissan Stadium. She then continued her international momentum with her Lollapalooza debut in Chicago, where she closed the Airbnb Stage before a packed crowd as one of only two Japanese artists on the 2026 lineup.
