Alejandro Escovedo and Don Antonio have announced early 2019 U.S. tour dates, including their first stops in many American cities since the release of ‘The Crossing’ on Yep Roc Records in September. Deemed as “possibly the finest recorded work” of Escovedo’s five-decade career by NPR, the sprawling and cinematic seventeen-song concept record follows the story of two young immigrants working in a Texas restaurant, searching for their version of the American Dream and finding something starkly different in its place.

‘The Crossing’ features guest appearances from Wayne Kramer, James Williamson, Joe Ely and John Perry of the Only Ones – all of who will appear with Alejandro and Don Antonio at their ACL Live at The Paramount Theatre tour kick-off show on January 5 in Austin. Special guests will also be announced soon for the three night City Winery runs in both New York and Chicago. Don Antonio will join Alejandro on each of the U.S. dates, after collaborating closely with him on the writing and recording of ‘The Crossing.’ Says NPR, “the band's cinematic approach to music is perfectly suited for Escovedo's vision.”

Alejandro will return to Austin in February 2019 to accept the Townes Van Zandt Songwriting Award at the 37th Austin Music Awards. Last year, Escovedo presented the award to his longtime friend and collaborator Joe Ely.
