Judy Collins, the endlessly prolific singer, songwriter, author and activist, returns to the Metropolitan Museum of Art onDecember 4 for a special performance of new songs and classics spanning her illustrious career. Released in September, 'Strangers Again' became Collins' highest charting album on the Billboard 200 in decades, and debuted at #1 on Amazon's Music chart. In the wake of the album's release, her 2011 autobiography 'Sweet Judy Blue Eyes' re-emerged as a New York Times Best Seller. Collins recently appeared on NPR's Weekend Edition, performed on 'Later....With Jools Holland' in the UK and was featured in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Parade and more. The New York Times has deemed her the "ageless wild angel of pop."
'Strangers Again' features a host of special guests, including Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Don McLean, Jeff Bridges, Glen Hansard and Willie Nelson - joining Judy and her golden voice in sparkling interpretations of classic songs by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Randy Newman, James Taylor and more. Judy has appeared everywhere from Sesame Street to HBO's Girls, performed at a presidential inauguration and released two live DVD/CD specials in the past three years which were also broadcast on PBS.
