Angie McMahon Unveils New EP, A Couple Of Songs, Via Fader: Listen Now / Watch Two New Music Videos

Australia’s Chart-Topping Artist Signs To Dualtone For Debut Full Length Album Salt, Out Later This Year

Playing First US Shows This Month Including Opening For Pixies And SXSW Debut

Six months ago, Angie McMahon was booking bands at a small venue in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. Few could have guessed that while booking local acts six nights a week, she was also entering a whirlwind stretch of her own - in the short period since dropping her debut single, she’s opened for Father John Misty, The Shins, Leon Bridges, and Alanis Morissette, has racked up over 15 million streams on the back of just three singles, topped the triple j radio charts, and just sold out her first-ever headline tour (playing 1500+ cap venues, to boot).

If 2018 was a good year, then Angie is poised for a breakout in 2019. Newly signed to Dualtone, an Entertainment One company here in the States, the Melbourne artist will be releasing a new EP tomorrow called A Couple of Songs - featuring her latest single “Keeping Time,” and a brand new track called “Pasta.” FADER gave a sneak peek of the EP this morning in the form of two new music videos, which they call "a perfect showcase of McMahon's gifts as a songwriter and vocalist."

“Pasta is about feeling really tired, trying anyway, and wanting to rock out like Springsteen,” says Angie. “I wanted the video to show how it feels to do nothing, just letting your brain stew. I’m learning that you just have to encourage yourself and not wait for other people to do it.  And if you can’t make yourself feel awesome, dogs might make you feel awesome. It’s a reminder to go outside.”

The EP’s other track “Keeping Time,” which has already amassed over 1.6 million Spotify streams, comes paired with an intimate look into the first year of Angie’s career. “It’s a video diary of some moments on the road over a whirlwind year,” she says. “I’m so grateful to everybody who’s come to a gig or listened to my songs.”

Both “Pasta” and “Keeping Time” will appear on McMahon’s full-length debut album Salt, due out later this year. More details to come soon.

A Couple of Songs will be available widely for streaming and purchase at 8am EST tomorrow. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/AngieMcMahon

Writing earnestly and with a sharp sense of humor about the lessons that come with young adulthood - being embarrassed by heartache, conquering exhaustion, the woes of loneliness and social media - Angie’s unguarded willingness to let listeners into her world have earned her a devoted audience across the globe. She and her band will be playing their first US show this Thursday (March 7) at The Basement in Nashville, followed by an opening slot for the Pixies and a busy week at SXSW, where she’ll be playing Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion and more.

NPR Music just highlighted Angie in their SXSW preview this morning, saying "at times, she sounds like a one-woman reincarnation of Fleetwood Mac": https://www.npr.org/2019/03/05/696698586/the-austin-100-angie-mcmahon
