Aoife O'Donovan Confirms Headlining 2016 Tour, Premieres Track From Ltd Edition Bonus LP, Out 1/22 With 'In The Magic Hour' (Yep Roc)

Aoife O'Donovan has confirmed her first headlining tour dates of 2016 in support of her forthcoming album In The Magic Hour (Jan 22/Yep Roc Records). A special limited edition version of the album will feature six additional acoustic tracks including the solo rendition of"Magic Hour" from this video via American Songwriter here.

O'Donovan's headlining 2016 tour dates follow this month's support run with Glen Hansard, which kicks off tonight in LA. A full list of tour dates to follow.

The limited edition version of In The Magic Hour will be released as a 2xCD and on translucent blue vinyl available for pre-order now here. For Record Store Day on BlackFriday, November 27, O'Donovan's single "Magic Hour," will be released as a limited edition 7", also on translucent blue vinyl, with a bone-chilling cover of Joni Mitchell's "Turn Me On, I'm A Radio" on the b-side.

Produced by Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, Neko Case) and including special guests Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Gabriel Kahane among others, In The Magic Hour is Aoife O'Donovan's follow-up to her 2013 solo debut Fossils, which earned props from the NY Times, NPR and President Obama (he included a track on his Summer Vacation playlist this year). The new album was written in the wake of her grandfather's death. Far from gloomy, it is a gorgeous ode to her idyllic childhood summers surrounded by family. The Guardian said Aoife possesses "the ability to surprise an audience with the contrast between her gentle appearance at the microphone and the invisible punch of her performance."
