Ariana and the Rose Delivers Self-Help Steps For Heartbreak on Forthcoming Concept Album

New Single & Step One “I’m Fine” Out Now - Listen HERE

Brooklyn’s art-pop diva and nightlife superhero Ariana and the Rose is ready to recover from heartbreak when her forthcoming cabaret pop concept album ‘The Breakup Variety Hour’ drops October 10th. Inspired by her critically acclaimed one-woman live show of the same name, the album is framed as an auditory self-help guide through the stages of a breakup.

Comical, irreverent, feisty and earnest, ‘The Breakup Variety Hour’ begins with the end of a relationship via previously released single “I Just Came To Say Goodbye” before taking listeners step-by-step through the ensuing heartbreak.

Today, the first rung of the recovery ladder, “I’m Fine” drops. A fizzy, manic slice of denial in the face of pain that teaches the lesson “Step 1: Fake It Til You Make It”, “I’m Fine” is a perfect portrait of the colorful charm and undeniable talents of Ariana and the Rose, which has already earned her past press love from Billboard, Vogue, Paper Magazine and Nylon. Watch the self-shot music video HERE.

Ariana calls the song “an anthem for all my unhinged babes! It is the first of six steps in the How To Get Over a Breakup Guide that is my album, ‘The Breakup Variety Hour’.”

She adds, “We're gonna be fab on the outside, even though we feel horrible on the inside. Just for a second, while we get ourselves together. And in today's truly unhinged times. I think this song serves as an anthem for all of us who are hanging on by a thread.”

The Breakup Variety Hour live show, which debuted at NYC’s Joe’s Pub (SOLD OUT) before a national run of dates earlier this year, calls to mind the wonder of classic female-hosted variety shows. Think Cher’s 70s program or the Carol Burnett Show, it’s a hysterical yet moving one-woman show that bridges pop music, stand-up comedy and cabaret to make something healing and singular.

Both the tour and album finds their roots in Ariana’s viral success on Tik Tok during the pandemic, when she would create casual “piano chat” videos, recounting lessons she’s learned and heartbreak she faced, while accompanying herself on the piano. She has received over 3.8m likes on the platform, with millions of views. Example HERE.

Her next live dates are two remaining shows at her Club Cumming summer residency in NYC August 13 and September 11.

Of the album, Ariana shares that it “is more than a collection of songs, I wanted it to feel like a true experience. It's a very "take what you need," type of record. There are talking interludes, similar to the piano chats I create online and songs to go with them,” She adds “This record is specifically about healing from heartbreak but whether you're in the middle of that now or have been in the past, my hope is that this album serves as a balm for anyone dealing with grief. Putting ourselves back together after we've been shattered by heartbreak (romantic or otherwise) is a transformative experience and this record is a little bit of help to get you through.”

The Brooklyn popstar’s 2022 debut album ‘Lonely Hearts Club, which Billboard called “a siren call to the club” and People described as “an impressive dance LP that her foremothers (like Madonna, Robyn and Kylie Minogue) would be proud of.”

From making downtown chic street pop, to curating her own immersive art & music party residency in Brooklyn, to touring all over the country, performing at the Orlando Fringe Festival, making her late night tv debut, and interviews with the likes of Paper MagazineVogueNylonand more, Ariana and the Rose has become a force to be reckoned with.
