Tuesday, December 2 - Today, NYC born and raised rock band Quarters release the “STAR” music video with Mean Girls actress and Gen-Z darling Avantika, who is set to feature in Mindy Kaling’s highly anticipated new Hulu series Not Suitable For Work (learn more HERE). With a previous collaborative history (including their 1.8M-viewed Street Hearts episode), Avantika helps Quarters pen their artistic rebirth and imbue their art with new conceptual meaning.
Long championed by Joe Jonas, including an opening slot at the MVP arena Jonas Brothers show in Albany, NY -- Quarters continue to mark their footprint in the burgeoning New York rock scene. “STAR” paints the softer elements of the band’s new sound and the music video includes easter eggs alluding to Quarters’ new era and third record out March 2026 via Warner Music Group / Sparta.
Quarters shares “Creating the “STAR” video was like trying to capture a fleeting fever dream moments after waking up. The process moved us between dreamlike sequences and realities - all set to a cold late night stage you might find while surfing tv channels.
Avantika understood the vision of “STAR” immediately. Her character is equal parts striking and ominous, trying to make sense of the performance she’s witnessing, and why it carries such a gravity.
There’s an electrifying charge whenever we share a creative space with Avantika— we have two distinct energies that somehow sharpen the same image.”

Setting the stage as a newscaster, Avantika introduces the band who launch into an emotive performance with crashing cymbals and heavy guitar chords. The video concludes with lead singer Ben Roter lifeless on the ground while Avantika’s eyes widen in horror – a truman-show like performance. With “STAR”, the once indie-rock band is elevated to true rock band status anchored by a synced rhythm section and driven by a palette rich with reverb.
