Big Yellow Dog Music songwriter Daniel Tashian has the first No. 1 country hit of his career this week with Josh Turner's "Hometown Girl." A Big Yellow Dog Music writer since 2009, Tashian also is known as the frontman for the Nashville trio The Silver Seas and as a producer who has worked with Trent Dabbs, Emily West, A Girl Named Eddie, and Big Yellow Dog Music artist Keelan Donovan.
"Hometown Girl" was written by Tashian (Big Yellow Dog Music) and Marc Beeson (Downtown Music Publishing). Tashian previously has had his songs recorded by Tim McGraw, the Eli Young Band, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, and others.
"We couldn't be happier to see Daniel reach this career milestone," says Big Yellow Dog Music co-owner Carla Wallace. "So many artists come to Daniel for his enthusiasm, craft, and gift for encouraging budding artists. This single's success allows other artists in the country genre to check out Daniel's unique style."
