Blanco White Releases Visuals for Emotive New Single “Desert Days”

Debut Album ‘On The Other Side’ Set for April 3rd Release Via Yucatan Records

(New York, NY): Today, Blanco White — the project from London based artist Josh Edwards — releases emotional new single “Desert Days,” off his long-awaited debut album ‘On The Other Side,’ out April 3rd, 2020 via Yucatan Records.

Featuring a lone man escaping into the dunes of his dreams, the visuals for “Desert Days” pull you into a bewitching experience. The barefoot traveler wanders among the mountains, sea, and sand while gazing off, searching for deeper meaning in the vast terrain.

"'Desert Days' is a song about the feeling you’ve been trapped living in a place too long,” Josh says about the new track. “It was inspired by the Jorge Luís Borges short story ‘The Two Kings and the Two Labyrinths’. In the story, the desert stands as the last labyrinth that is impossible to escape from even though there are no walls blocking your way. During the writing process, I also drew a lot of influence from Saharan bands like Tinariwen, who often write about the desert in their songs.”

“Desert Days” comes on the heels of lead single “Papillon,” a similarly tender track based on Henri Charrière’s book of the same name. The song was accompanied by an ethereal video directed by Javier Lara.

ABOUT BLANCO WHITE

Having studied guitar in Cádiz (Spain), and later the Andean instrument the charango in Sucre (Bolivia), Josh’s aim was to begin bringing together elements of Andalusian and Latin American music alongside influences closer to home. Blanco White has released three EPs so far, 'The Wind Rose’ (2016), a self-produced debut EP, 'Colder Heavens’ (2016) which was produced by Ian Grimble (Bear's Den, Matt Corby, Daughter) and 2018’s ‘Nocturne’ EP. In that time Josh has achieved significant success, enabling him to tour the globe for months on end and gaining huge streaming numbers. The new album has been recorded mostly in London and is self-produced by Josh, engineered by Dani Spragg and mixed by Air Studios’ Jake Jackson.
