Blind Pilot's first album in five years, 'And Then Like Lions' (ATO), is out next week and is streaming exclusively now via NPR's First Listen series. NPR notes that the record "unfurls slowly and gracefully," highlighting the album's "songs of reflection and connection, carried out in a subtle swirl of strings, horns, pianos and voices." The lush and uplifting 10-song record was penned by Blind Pilot's Israel Nebeker over the course of three years, a cathartic response to the loss of his father and end of a 13-year relationship. 'And Then Like Lions' serves as Israel's exhilarating and defiant journey to find strength within loss.

Earlier this week, lead single "Umpqua Rushing" was highlighted on NPR Music's All Songs Considered podcast and was a Today's Top Tune on KCRW. Utne Reader called the track "one of those songs you just want to keep listening to over and over again."

Leading up to the release of the new record, Blind Pilot has shared a series of live session videos from the legendary Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, Washington. Watch "Umpqua Rushing" from Bear Creek here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am3qJ6fMYr4

Blind Pilot also visited KINK in Portland, Oregon this week, where they recorded a riveting live session of their single "Packed Powder." Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_v6-RvJRxc

Blind Pilot has performed on Ellen and The Late Show with David Letterman, at the Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza. The group has shared stages with The Shins, Andrew Bird, Calexico and more. The project began in 2007 when Israel and co-founding member Ryan Dobrowski went on a West Coast tour via bicycle.

The band will be touring the U.S. through November, including dates with Brandi Carlile and two headlining shows at New York's Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 20 and 21. A full list of dates is below.
