After debuting at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart upon release, Boz Scaggs' new album 'Out of the Blues' (Concord Records) has now spent seven straight weeks atop the chart, and now claims the #1 spot on the Americana Albums radio chart. Additionally, ‘Out of the Blues’ has been met with widespread critical acclaim from NPR Weekend Edition, Rolling Stone, Billboard, USA Today and beyond. Boz also recently sat down with the Bullseye radio program and podcast, and was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle.
Boz is backing his success with a massive fall tour, which includes multiple dates with special guests. In addition to his own tour dates, Boz will perform with Los Lobos when they are inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame on October 25th, and the night prior (Oct.24), he’ll headline the Paramount Theater in Austin.
‘Out of the Blues’ finds Scaggs revisiting the formative, regional music of his youth. It’s a masterful fusion of classic tracks popularized by Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy Reed, Magic Sam, and Neil Young, paired with new originals. ‘Out of the Blues’ is the finale in Boz’s unofficial trilogy, which began with the Steve Jordan-produced albums 'Memphis' and 'A Fool to Care.' The incredible band on the record includes guitarists Doyle Bramhall II, Ray Parker Jr. and Charlie Sexton, bassist Willie Weeks, drummer Jim Keltner, keyboardist Jim Cox.
