Davis’ powerful baritone drives “Pray Like Hell,” which he wrote alongside Brandon Sammons (Lady Gaga, Kygo), who also produced the track. Across lively drums and sharp electric guitar riffs, Davis delivers a poignant reminder to live each day to the fullest and to stay strong through life’s toughest moments.

It’s a message that is especially prevalent in the rising artist’s life, as a near-fatal car crash was the catalyst for Davis quitting his job as a systems engineer to pursue his dream of having a music career.

“This life we live is something truly special,” says Davis. “When we get to the end of it, we should be able to look back and simply say, ‘Man, what a great ride.’ This song is about facing whatever the world might try to throw at you with confidence and strength in knowing that you can keep pushing on. Some of those trials might be small and the victories might be even smaller, but it all adds up in the end. So ‘til that end comes, just Pray Like Hell and hold on.”

Davis’ grassroots following of 3M+ across platforms speaks to his charming personality and relatable lyricism. In 2020, his wife Destiny began sharing candid, impromptu singing challenge videos that went viral on TikTok and earned him a loyal following. Last year, Tim McGraw took notice and hand-selected Davis for his tour, where he won the hearts of country music fans who gravitated towards his slice-of-life songwriting and ability to incorporate classic country elements into a modern style.

“Pray Like Hell” is the latest preview of Davis’ forthcoming 17-track album ‘Life’s Too Short’ (9.1 via Big Yellow Dog Music), following the heartbreak track “Still Gonna Be” and the ode to inner beauty “Pretty.”
