“Breakout Rocker” (Variety) grandson Adds Second Los Angeles Show To Headlining North American “Death Of A Tour” After First LA Date Sells Out

Announces Nova Twin And Oxymorrons As Additional Support On The 20+ Date Run

MARKS GRANDSON’S BIGGEST HEADLINING TOUR TO DATE

Due to overwhelming demand and selling out his first date at the El Rey Theatre, platinum-selling alt-rocker grandson announces a second Los Angeles date on his upcoming headlining North American “Death of a Tour,” his biggest headlining run to date.

Tickets for the Saturday, February 26th show at the El Rey Theatre go sale on Friday, January 21st at 10 am PT here: https://www.grandsonmusic.com/tour

The LA-based artist who is known for his “polemical songwriting” (Interview Magazine), will begin the 20+ run of shows with two performances at legendary Los Angeles venue, the El Rey Theatre, (his first time headlining) and sees him traverse both coasts playing major cities like Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and more, solidifying him as one of the most prolific voices in alternative music.

The highly anticipated, first proper headlining tour in support of his debut album DEATH OF AN OPTIMIST (Fueled by Ramen) features support from pop-punk Angeleno Royal & The Serpent, and, today, grandson announces English rock duo Nova Twins and New York-bred alternative hip hop band, the Oxymorrons, will join him on the road for select dates. See below for tour routing.

In addition to the headlining dates, grandson will support Imagine Dragons on their Arena tour of North America and pop-punk royalty Avril Lavigne’s run across Canada with MOD SUN as well, making an epic hometown return to his country of origin. See below for all supporting tour dates.

2021 was a breakout year for grandson and saw him perform at several major festivals (Rolling Stone said his Lollapalooza performance was “exuberant”) and multiple ground-breaking collaborations. grandson wrote the exclusive single from the James Gunn-directed superhero film 'The Suicide Squad,” “Rain” with Jessie Reyez and joined forces with Chicago rapper Vic Mensa and Australian rapper Masked Wolf for "Oh No!!!" (From The Suicide Squad)," which was included in the movie’s end title sequence. The rock act also tapped Travis Barker and pop superstar Kesha for “Drop Dead” and performed “Hold the Line” alongside friend, mentor, and fellow advocate Tom Morello on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Stay tuned for more collaborations and new music this year.

ABOUT GRANDSON:

grandson is the pseudonym of Canadian/American alternative artist Jordan Benjamin. He takes elements of his rock and roll, hip hop, and electronic music roots and combines them to tell stories of reclaiming power over one’s life, confronting social issues facing his generation, and opening up about struggles with addiction and mental health. Since releasing his Modern Tragedy EP series, grandson has toured extensively across North America, Russia, and Europe, accumulated hundreds of millions of streams online, and received co-signs from the biggest names in rock and roll and progressive politics, from Tom Morello to Bernie Sanders. grandson’s debut album, 'Death Of An Optimist,' conflates personal anxieties with political realities. As the protagonist, grandson simultaneously explores the dark underbelly of his unrelenting optimism for change, by creating an antagonist, X. The record delivers a subtle A-side/B-side structure totaling twelve tracks that follow grandson and X’s dueling world views. grandson has collaborated with icons and heavy hitters in the music industry. Just this year, the platinum-selling alt-rocker collaborated with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Jessie Reyez for "Rain," the exclusive single from the James Gunn-directed superhero film 'The Suicide Squad,” and for the end title sequence of the film, grandson joined forces with Chicago rapper Vic Mensa and Australian rapper Masked Wolf for "Oh No!!!" (From The Suicide Squad)." Additionally, grandson tapped Travis Barker and pop superstar Kesha for “Drop Dead” and performed “Hold the Line” alongside friend, mentor, and fellow advocate Tom Morello on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
