Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band’s Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour has been called “among the most unflinching acts of musical resistance mounted in the nation’s history” by TIME Magazine, with Variety adding “you will probably never see a better rock ‘n’ roll show.” Today, two new official performance videos have been released from the tour’s opening night in Minnesota; fittingly “Streets Of Minneapolis” and “Purple Rain.” The surprise Prince cover - performed live for the first time in a decade, and dedicated “to the Maestro” by Springsteen - was deemed a “lump-in-throat moment” by USA Today; while the full-band debut of Springsteen’s newest release saw: “the crowd of nearly 18,000 hold lighted cellphones aloft, creating a sea of stars as they shouted along to the lyrics” (New York Times).

Since its opening night, the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour has continued onto Portland - where The Oregonian noted “the people were ready to scream/sing at the top of their lungs and to be swept up in a hopeful message” - and two shows in Los Angeles, where the LA Times wrote, amidst the themes of the tour, “the prevailing emotion was joy.” The Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour will continue for 16 more shows across the country, and conclude on May 27 with an outdoor finale at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
