Calendar Alert: Jake Shimabukuro & His Ukulele to Charm Zipper Hall February 8

On February 8th, “the most widely heard ukulele player alive today,” (Fretboard Journal) Jake Shimabukuro will bring his memorable live show to Zipper Hall at the Colburn School. Performing tracks off of his latest album ‘Peace Love Ukulele,’ Shimabukuro will show why Rolling Stone calls him “one of the hottest axmen of the past few years.”

Shimabukuro has “raised the bar for the ukulele” (Washington Post) & he boasts “buoyant musicianship and brisk proficiency” (New York Times). 

His brilliant cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” has been lauded as “amazing uke playing to be relished” by Brian May of Queen, while Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam said that “Jake is taking the instrument to a place that I can’t see anybody else catching up with him.”
