Carole King's memoir, 'A Natural Woman,' will debut at #6 on the NY Times Nonfiction Bestseller list. The NY Daily News raved that the book "will win your heart," while USA Today called it "candid [and] endearingly chatty," and Vanity Fair says, "America is having a Carole King moment."

The moment continues next week with the release of 'The Legendary Demos' (4/24, Hear Music/Concord Music Group), a never-before-heard collection of King's demos tracing her journey from Aldon staff writer in the 1960's to the dawn of her own triumphant solo career in the 1970's. Check out King's first-ever demo recording of the future classic "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," recorded circa 1967, here: http://snd.sc/JkCJSO [Approved to Embed]

King will be honored at the 60th Annual BMI Pop Music Awards May 15 in Los Angeles with the prestigious Icon award in recognition of her influence on generations of music makers. Past recipients include Brian Wilson, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, James Brown, and Dolly Parton, among others.

Carole King is arguably the most successful and revered female songwriter in pop music history. To date, more than 400 Carole King compositions have been recorded by more than 1000 artists, resulting in 100 hit singles - many of them reaching #1. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, King was the first woman to win four GRAMMY Awards in one year, and her landmark 1971 album 'Tapestry' received a Diamond Award from the RIAA for sales of more than 10 million units in the U.S., with more than 25 million units sold worldwide.
