(New York, NY – February 8, 2018) – Acclaimed bassist/vocalist Casey Abrams has released a new original song, Let’s Make Out,” from his forthcoming new album Put A Spell On You. Listen now at Relix.
Set for release on March 16, 2018 on Chesky Records, Put A Spell On You showcases both Abrams frenetic energy, as well as the unique nature of his creativity as a songwriter and performer. Songs include the originals “Robot Lovers,” and “Cougartown” as well as his compelling takes on a few classics such as “I Put a Spell on You,” “Georgia on My Mind,” and “Nature Boy.” Abrams will tour in support of the music with New York City and Nashville shows confirmed (tour dates below).
Last Fall Abrams retreated to a decommissioned church in Brooklyn (The Hirsch Center) to track Put A Spell On You. During a two-day marathon session, he was joined by the members of his trio—Jacob Scesney [saxophone, cajón] and Taylor Tesler [guitar, vocals]—David Chesky in the producer’s chair, and a “mannequin microphone.” Put A Spell On You is a part of the Chesky Binaural + Series, all recorded with a single microphone. The new music showcases the spacious, lush and multi-dimensional recording.
All around musical wunderkind, Casey Abrams, has built a strong following through the years with two album releases (Casey Abrams and Tales From the Gingerbread House). Casey spent the last year touring internationally as part of the renowned collective Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox between launching his own nine-piece “funk orchestra” via select FunkHaus gigs.

About Chesky Records
Chesky Records opened its doors in 1986. The label is the brainchild of recording artist David Chesky who had the personal insight to recognize that standard audio albums lacked the subtle nuances of live performance, and that the human ear hears much more than modern stereo techniques reproduce. Enlisting the help of his brother, Norman Chesky, the business partners formed the NY-based label with one simple philosophy: to create the illusion of live musicians in a three-dimensional space--to capture and produce “music FOR your ears.”
Home to multiple GRAMMY® award-winning recordings and artists (including Macy Gray, John Hammond, McCoy Tyner, Herbie Mann, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths, Joe Henderson, Chuck Mangione, Paquito D'Rivera, Ron Carter, Larry Coryell, John Pizzarelli, Bucky Pizzarelli, Babatunde Olatunji, Ana Caram, Rebecca Pidgeon and more), Chesky Records has become known for its superb, high-fidelity audio.
