Chase Bryant Shares Ashland City EP, The Second Of His Prolific Five-Part EP Series

On April 17, Bryant will perform the EP at Analog in Nashville, TN – more info here

Today (4.12), Chase Bryant shares his 5-track Ashland City EP. The second release of his 5-part EP series, the project was born in a house just Northwest of Nashville. A nod to a pivotal turning point in his life, both musically and personally, Bryant recorded the project when he moved back to Nashville from Texas and wanted to do everything on his own, from the instrumentation to the engineering.

Last month, he shared the EP’s first preview, “Wild Than Tame.” Co-written by Bryant alongside two of his musical heroes Keith Gattis and Ray Wylie Hubbard, “Wild Than Tame” tips its hat to his Texas roots. Opening with a grunge that feels right out of an old Western movie before rolling right into full-on barn burner mode, the track is complete with an official video that highlights the song's rebellious spirit as Bryant shreds on guitar around a raging bonfire. Alongside the EP release, Bryant shares the official visualizer for his breakup ballad, “Never Got Around To That” – watch it above and here.

Ashland City follows January’s “sonic stunner” (People)Summerville EP, named after his wife’s hometown. Each EP represents a different chapter in his life with a unique sound, showcasing his evolution as a prolific creator. Throughout this year, he’ll share the remaining 3 EPs: Cayo del Grullo (named after a favorite Texas vacation spot) coming July 19, Clio (cut in a cabin in the rural Alabama town it’s named for) coming October 11, and Avery Park (a nod to his old home outside of Brentwood, TN), coming January 10, 2025.

Praised for his resilience, commanding songwriting and just being “damn good” (Whiskey Riff), Bryant continues to bring forth music that’s an honest portrait of his life, which started with the 2021 release of his debut album Upbringing — which landed Bryant features with NPR Weekend Edition, Tamron Hall Show, Good Morning America Digital, the GRAMMY Museum and more – and continues with the set of EPs he has slated for this year.

Ashland City Track List:

  1. Wild Than Tame (Chase Bryant, Keith Gattis, Ray Wylie Hubbard
  2. Heart Ain’t A Hotel (Bryant, Wade Kirby)
  3. Double Wide Dreamin’ (Bryant, John King, Sarah Turner)
